Actually, I thought the post was sort of interesting. I don't know that I've ever heard Madonna sing, but the change was interesting. I wonder, though, if it doesn't have more to do with changing tastes, than changing vocal ability?
The sound and quality of my own singing changed in a similar way after I started taking lessons. I think that after her first one or two albums, she either went on her own or else the record company had her get lessons. You can clearly hear the difference, from nasal to light and fluffy.
