My musings as I learn about and participate in opera.
Isn't it a glass armonica?
It's called both. I think at first it was called armonica and later the h was added.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glass_harmonicaand http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/05/arts/music/05glas.htmlandhttp://www.chez.com/thomasbloch/engGLASS.htm
Gorgeous. Just gorgeous. Every time I hear her, I'm just blown away by how pure and clear her voice sounds. She's got the perfect voice for parts like these because she actually sounds young. I'm so jealous you got to see this live!
She was amazing live.Speaking of jealous... how many days until your trip to the Lyric to see Pearl Fishers??? ;)
Five days!! :D
Ah...I see. I always hear about it in connection to Ben Franklin, which was before the "h"I went online and saw some videos of people playing them. It's so cool!
